When the Alpine World Cup comes to town, the rush for a bed within reasonable distance of the race piste and the press room has become an art form for most journalists. For the Criterium Premier Neige in Val d’Isere, Crystals Ski very kindly supported Racer Ready with a bed in the Chalet Solaise.
The Chalet Solaise is really conveniently located within walking distance of the main road through Val d’Isere and also within a couple of minutes of the free bus stop down to La Daille. With the Men’s races based around the Face de Bellevarde, this was just five minutes walk away.
With easy access to the amenities, great facilities in the apartment, this was a perfect location.
Three double rooms, a spacious living area and kitchen facilities not only was the apartment a welcoming respite from the racing, Tom and Ben, the Chalet hosts with Crystal Ski could not have done more to welcome not only Racer Ready but also the crew out supporting the Ski Sunday team who were also in resort filming.
If a relaxing and friendly apartment is what you are after, I could not recommend the Crystal Ski team highly enough. From offering to help dig my car out on the Sunday afternoon to baking cakes ready for the evening, this is a highly recommended location and staff that catered for their clients.
Breakfast was a joy and set one up for the day with a mix of warm and cold jams and cereals – something for everyone.
