Swiss Boardercross athlete Meiler out for eight weeks

The two-time snowboard cross Olympia participant (2010 and 2014) Simona Meiler broke her right collarbone yesterday after a crash during the European Cup training in Pitztal (AUT). For the 28-year-old Swiss A-squad athlete, this means an eight-week break from competing and training. Meiler does not need an operation but for eight weeks the Flimserin will not be able to compete. However, the Olympics are not written off for her yet: “If the healing process is optimal, there is hope that I can go for the last qualifying opportunity for Korea,” says Simona Meiler. The last chance to do so will be at the World Cup in Bansko (BUL) from 26 to 28 January 2018.
