ISA Schools race at Hemel draws big entry

The ISA National Indoor Champs are now in their 3rd year and were held, as usual, at The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead on the 24th April and were sponsored this year by NSSA Partner Schools Tour company, Travel Places.
Running to the usual schools race format of fastest of 2 runs to count, there was some great racing across the day, starting with juniors in the morning.
With racers representing 36 schools, competition was fierce for the team competition with wins for the ISA trophies by Holmegrange and the Grove schools. The open trophies were collected by The Hall School, Chesham Prep and Broadstone Middle School.
Helping Broadstone score their points, Maisie Rendell and Abigail Putman took wins in their age categories with Abigail also taking fastest girl in the event. In The boys, Zach Metheringham from Beachborough School took the honours overall.
After junior prizegiving, it was the turn of the seniors with some very experienced racers competing as well as those taking part for the first time. In the ISA team competition, New Eccles Hall, taking part in their first competition took the honours with Dulwich College, South Hampstead High School and Ysgol Eirias taking the open categories. The latter containing experienced racers Joe and Ben Constantine, Alex Davies and Olivia Ward.
In the individual event two of these four took their age categories with Olivia just beating Daisi Daniels for fastest overall girl and Angus Wills from Dulwich College taking the boys fastest time.
