World Juniors: Canada wins the Team Event ahead of Austria and Belgium

THE TEAM EVENT THAT concluded a long day of racing was certainly a tough race until the end. The Canadian team won the battle for first place against Austria and Belgium took third place ahead of Germany.
Game faces were on and there was a big crowd at the Team Event. Austria and Great Britain were the first on the course, which ended with Austrian victory. The USA, Finland, Belgium, Canada, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland made it to the second run of the evening.

There were a few spectacular crashes, fortunately without any reported injuries, that led to Belgium beating Finland, Canada coming in before Sweden and Germany going on to the next round after beating Switzerland.

In the end, the battle for bronze was between Belgium and Germany, with the latter as favorite for the medal. But Belgium put up a good fight and took home the bronze after two heat wins each, where the Belgian team was the faster one.

Canada had a lot of support among the spectators and it seemed to help. After going on from the first round with a three-one win against Poland and on to the next round, the Canadian team won the final against Austria with another three-one result.

The British team drew a strong Austrian team in Round 1 and did not progress.
