If the main races made for great racing, watching the next generation of racers gave great hope for the future. these were not just young folk sauntering down a stubbies course, but these were determined athletes looking to win races! With many racers having started out on their racing career at this level, the future looks promising!
In the first race the win was taken by Anna Kamaly-Asl as she posted the fastest first run time and then went back up and just in case others thought they could beat her time, she went even faster on the second run. Amber Fennel, an Under 10 racer, was another to go faster on the second run in taking second place as Holly Tutt just held on to third from Lucy Hanson as the Under 10’s dominated the results sheet taking second through to fourth in the Overall results! Amy Stokoe and Caitlin Baldwin took second and third on the Under 12’s podium.
In the boys race Kayne Stanway posted the fastest time on both runs, his first run being the fastest, with Jacob Sundin in second. Charlie Quinn took third and fastest Under 10 as he held off Lewis Calder for the Overall podium, Calder taking third in the Under 12 age group. Adam Boodea took second in the Under 10 age group with Henry Boyes-Hunter in third.
Anna Kamaly-Asl continued her impressive performances this summer with another race win in the second race and again took the fastest time on both runs. This time it was a close run thing as Charlotte Holmes came within two hundredths of a second of taking the win as the two pocket rockets posted faster second run times. Rebecca Hart took third overall as well as third in the Under 12 age group. Amber Fennel took fourth overall and also the win in the Under 10 age group just ahead of Holly Tutt with Lucy Hanson taking third in the age group.
Kayne Stanway took the race win in the boys race after posting a magnificent time on the first run and then let the rest of the field try and better it. Kieran Wooley recovered from a couple of crashes on the first day to take second with a much improved second run while Lewis Calder took third. Charlie Quinn won the Under 10 age group ahead of Henry Boyes-Hunter and Lewis Parton recovering from a mishap on the first run to grab third place in the Under 10 age group.
