Anna Fenninger produced a master class on the first run of the GS to create a huge lead and then let the rest of the field try and catch her up as she won her second gold of the World Championships and third medal in all. Fenninger raised the bar in the first run and had those watching gasping in awe in the way she attacked the course. This was a joy to watch. With a lead over Michi Kirchgasser of just over eight tenths of a second and the rest following, Fenninger had the luxury of being able to make a huge mistake on the second run and still cross the line 1.40 seconds ahead of the field to take the Gold. Viktoria Rebensburg and Jessica Lindell Vikarby took the other places on the podium as Tina Maze’s quest to podium in all five races came unstuck. …
