Under 10’s and Under 12 races see tight exciting finishes

If you wanted an exciting and close finish for excitement then the Under 12 age group, the racers of the future, gave that in abundance! With less than five hundredths of a second separating both the top two racers in the boys and girls race had the watching crowd on tenterhooks. …  Joseph Thompson and Abby Holmes took the race wins in the older age group with Alex Ogden and Charlotte Holmes taking the younger age group.

In the younger age group the small field of three saw a comfortable half second win for Charlotte Holmes ahead of Jolie Hoffman-Little and Evie Whitmarsh-Ali in third. In the boys race Alex Ogden withstood a second run fightback from his Norfolk club colleague Travis Parker to take the win with Ryan Bunton relying on a fast second run to take third place.

Abby Holmes was another racer to rely on a solid and fast second run after crashing out on the first to edge out Grace Black by just five hundredths of a second. Both racers posted their fastest time on the second run as they chased first run leader Nia Boty. Boty lost out on the win by just fourteen hundredths of a second. If the girls race was close the boys race was even closer as local racer Joseph Thompson took the win by just four hundredths of a second from Jack Upton with Tommy Dade in third.
