Having managed to run the National Championship races before the sun was able to soften the slope too badly, the decision was made to run the National Junior Downhill as well. Having started the training run for the men at 07.45 the National Junior Downhill started at 10.35 and was done and dusted at 11.55! A huge result for the organisation! Natalia Harte won the girls race ahead of Darcie Mead with Alice Macaulay taking third in the race.
In the men’s race, Max Baggio edged out Roy Steudle for the win with the defending champion, Matt Thompson in third. This was the third year in a row that Steudle has placed second in this race! While the race was geared to the Junior racers, Dougie Crawford was the class of the British field in taking 11th with Baldwin in 12th, just two hundredths behind.
