Good things come to those that work hard and Alex Tilley produced a career best GS result of 9.70 FIS points. The race also saw career best results for Charlie Guest (36.81) and Cara Brown (57.22). Tilley had lead after the first run and according to her coach, Stefan Moser, was a little nervous after the first run but put in a solid second run: “for sure a good race to score points but also very good skiing from alex especially” Moser explained to Racer Ready after the race. The course conditions were good according to Moser despite the heavy snowfall the night before the race.
Moser has the three athletes peaking at the right time. With the great support from Delancey, Moser has got the team heading in the right direction. Moser explains: “the athletes contribute a lot to the program and it would be great to get more funding, but also without the sponsorship from Delancey we couldn’t run a world class program as we do at the moment.”
While the team are not planning on doing the World Championships, the programme for the next few weeks looks like this according to Moser: “we will race in the slalom tomorrow head back to our base in Zell am See and do some more GS racing in Slovenia and then Strobl, Austria before the girls go home for a week to recover mentally and be fresh for the end of the season.”
